There’s something deeply tender about the space between vision and reality. That moment when you've gone all in, heart first, vision clear, intentions pure and yet, the outcome doesn’t meet the hope you held.

This month, I found myself and many of my clients sitting in that space. A recurring theme of disappointment echoed through conversations and reflections. And as the self-appointed Eternal Optimist, I had to gently guide myself out of more than a few spirals, without bypassing the very real emotions that surfaced.

Because here's the truth: feeling the feels is not a detour. It’s part of the journey. The goal isn't to rush through the discomfort, but to move with it, not get stuck in it.

In those moments, I turned to my personal energy-shifting tools, the rituals and reminders that help me recalibrate and rise. And I wanted to share that with you too, in case you’re navigating a season that feels heavier than expected.

From Rejection to Realignment

One of my clients this month got rejected from a major opportunity they’d been working toward for over a year (there is a much longer podcast on this coming). They came into our session feeling disillusioned: “What was the point of all that effort?”

We paused.
We looked at the growth: the new confidence in how they now speak about their work, the visibility they gained through the process, and the clarity they now had about what they truly wanted.

They didn’t get the opportunity, but they got prepared for what’s next.
That, too, is progress.

We reframed the rejection as redirection. And from that place, they were able to pivot with intention, not out of bitterness, but with belief.

Energetic Integrity: The Vibration You Carry Matters

Here’s something I believe with my whole being:
The world responds to our frequency.
And when we carry low-level energy—resentment, fear, scarcity—it influences what we attract, what we allow, and what we tolerate.

So the work isn’t to fake fine. But being in integrity with your energy means noticing when you’ve slipped into patterns that no longer serve you.

And perhaps most importantly: I’m learning that optimism isn’t naïve, it’s sacred practice.

A spiritual muscle that trusts: even when things don’t go to plan, you are still exactly where you need to be.

I had to catch myself this month, more than once.
Operating from fatigue. Over-giving. Wanting to prove my worth rather than own it.
And I course-corrected. Quietly, daily.

Not for the outside world.
For me.

What energy are you carrying?

I’ve been reading David Hawkins’ Power vs Force this month and it made me pause.
That book... whew. It helped me name the emotional shifts I was experiencing and brought clarity to how I want to show up consistently operating in power, not pushing through with force.

July brought setbacks—ones that forced me to ask hard questions about my entrepreneurial journey.

Some of the questions I sat with this month (feel free to borrow them):

  • Would you still want this if no one clapped for you?

  • Are you walking toward something new or running from what’s hard?

Work that Lit Me Up
  • Delivered impactful work in both Miami and London

  • 🌍 Facilitated my third cohort with The University of the West Indies, guiding 75 powerhouse women across 12 Caribbean and Latin American countries

  • Led a session on “Developing Strategy with a Growth Mindset”, exploring:

    • Leading strategically

    • Strengthening agency

    • Cultivating career-accelerating allyship

The feedback? Energising and deeply affirming. I was reminded once again: this work matters.

Moments that Mattered
  • 🗞 Featured in the Sunday Times with Sean Doyle (from our SXSW panel)

  • 🏆 Returned as a judge for the WiHTL Inclusion In Awards

And Yet...

Not everything flowed with ease.

But alongside the discomfort came deep love, soul rest, and the relief of removing the mask. I felt it all. And then—I let go of what wasn’t mine to hold.

BIG NEWS: New Partnership Announcement

🗣️ One of the biggest challenges facing organisations right now- Internal Comms. And what to do post-Meta Workplace which closes this month.

Enter: Humand 💬
I used to be a Meta Workplace evangelist and super user when I led the Employee Engagement workstream for the Commercial Leadership Team at Virgin Atlantic.

On stage talking about Engagement at Virgin Atlantic with the Institute of Travel Management in Istanbul

Since then, I’ve explored the options… and Humand impressed me deeply with its functionality, intuitive UX and people-first design.

I don’t do many partnerships but I have spent some time with the team and I’m super impressed with their offering and therefore proud to announce a new partnership.

If internal communication is holding your organisation back, set up a call with them using my link below, you won’t be disappointed.

Final Words

As the resident optimist, July was a full-spectrum month.
A seesaw of emotions. From iconic stages to private pivots. From celebration to recalibration.

And yet… I close this month re-centred.
Eyes open.
Heart softened.
Soul aligned.
Ready for intentional August rest—remembering, always, that rest is not a reward… it’s recovery.

🌀 Successfully unlocked another level of surrender.

📝 Journal Prompts

Where in your life do you need to switch from ‘proving’ to ‘trusting’? How would your energy shift if you showed up from a place of enoughness?

If you believed everything was still working in your favour, what would you do differently this week?

What would surrender look like for you, not as weakness, but as a radical act of wisdom and self-trust?

Where have you confused productivity with progress? And what might shift if you gave yourself permission to pause?
