Necessary Endings?

Deciding when to move on, with grace...

As the year winds down, there’s a recurring theme in many of my coaching conversations:

🌀 “I don’t know what it is, but I feel uncomfortable.”

🌀 “I know I need to move on, but…”

Why do we hold on to situations that no longer serve us? More often than not, it’s our ego. Whether it’s the comfort of status, the fear of change, or the uncertainty of what lies ahead, this resistance to letting go can leave us feeling trapped.

I’ve made some significant life pivots, and while none of them have been easy, I firmly believe in “choosing my hard.” When you’re operating at a certain level, it becomes even more crucial to regularly reassess your “why.” This practice ensures that it’s not your ego, but your purpose, driving your decisions forward.

The Need for Change

When something—a meeting, person, or place—makes you irritable or restless, pause.

Ask yourself:

💡 What about this situation is unsettling me?

💡 What do I need to process or adjust to show up better for myself?

Remember: the only thing in life you can truly control is yourself.

The Power of “Why”

Take a step back and reflect:

🤔 Why did I choose this role, company, partner, country, or home?

When I unpicked my own decisions, I realised that many stemmed from societal expectations or the dreams of a younger version of myself. If your actions today don’t align with the vision you hold for your future, it’s time to recalibrate.

Every decision—or indecision—is shaping your life. The longer you delay change, the further you delay the life you dream of.

Dare to Dream

Here’s an interesting insight: in over half of my coaching conversations, people admit they’ve never dared to dream.

Dreaming is free, but taking action requires courage.

So ask yourself:

✨ Have I let myself imagine my ideal life?

✨ Am I brave enough to take steps toward it?

I won’t pretend to have it all figured out, but I’ve learned this: living an intentionally chosen life is worth every step out of the comfort zone.

Moving on

This week, I had the honour of speaking at the Annual Women in Aviation and Aerospace dinner—a truly full-circle moment. What made it even more special was reconnecting with familiar faces, some of whom I’ve had the privilege of knowing and collaborating with for nearly 19 years.

Although I’ve since moved on from those organisations, my connection to the industry remains strong, and I continue to contribute in meaningful ways. Leaving each chapter of my career with grace, positivity, and an abundance mindset has been key. It’s this mindset that allowed me to celebrate the incredible journey while confidently embracing the belief that the next chapter will be even more extraordinary.

Let’s make a pact: stop simmering in discomfort and start stirring up the life you’ve always dreamed of. 🌟
