Because fulfilment doesn’t just happen — it’s built.
As we wrap up this month — and indeed the first quarter of the year (marked beautifully with yesterday’s Eclipse), I want to pause with you and reflect on what I believe is truly required to live a fulfilled life.
So… where are we with those New Year Intentions?
Let’s be honest. I suspect our intentions, words and actions haven’t quite been dancing in sync.
If that’s you — you’re not alone. And there's no judgement here.
But seriously: how do we fix this?
The Real Work Starts With Knowing Yourself
In my work, I’ve been blessed to spend time with some of the most incredible minds. I’ve held space for people’s unspoken truths — their fears, their hopes, their fire.
One of the consistent themes?
That delicate gap between how we see ourselves and how others experience us — whether that’s at work, in relationships, or as leaders.
There are exercises I use in coaching to help close this gap:
The Johari Window – for self-awareness through others’ feedback
The Emotional Capital Report – revealing how you emotionally show up in leadership
CliftonStrengths – for identifying your natural talents and leaning into them intentionally
And the most powerful moments?
They often come between sessions — I love receiving voice notes from clients along the lines of:
“Patrice, I caught myself. I was about to default, but I paused, saw the trigger — and chose differently.”
That’s alignment in action.
That’s when your intentions match your words, and your words match your actions.
What Misalignment Really Looks Like
Let me tell you something I see far too often: The most unhappy people? They’re usually the ones misaligned with what they think, say and do.
It shows up in frustration, in burnout, in poor behaviour, in relationships that feel like hard work. And honestly, I want to hand over the keys to enlightenment — but I’m not arrogant enough to pretend I have all the answers.
What I do have is perspective. I’ve seen the patterns. And since stepping away from any one organisation, I now have the time, space and freedom to truly focus on honing my craft as a coach. To really tune into that quiet, powerful thing we often ignore — intuition.
And that intuition? It’s a game-changer.
For the Brilliant Minds I Observe (Yes, I See You)
Now for the minds I only observe (the ones I’d love to coach, but you don’t think you need it)...
You’re brilliant — no doubt about that.
But brilliance without alignment can be damaging. It affects how you’re perceived, how your teams trust you, and how much change you actually catalyse.
The problem is — when power and status are in play, the number of people who can hold you accountable dwindles fast.
But here’s a gentle truth:
Unchallenged power rarely evolves.
How to Rebaseline and Realign
If Q1 didn’t play out the way you envisioned, it’s not failure — it’s feedback.
Let’s rebaseline.
Here’s a 4-step framework to realign:
Reconnect with Your Why
What really matters to you now — not what mattered in January. Get honest.Spot the Drift
Where are your actions not backing up your words? What stories are you telling yourself?Choose One Shift
One habit. One behaviour. One commitment. Keep it simple, but meaningful.Ask for Feedback
By now, you know the drill, invite someone you trust to share how they experience you. What are you missing?
Reflection prompt to ask yourself daily this week
“Where did I show up in alignment today? Where did I drift — and what caused that?”

💜 Partnering with Purpose: Introducing Fight Forward
As we close out Women’s History Month, I want to highlight something deeply personal to me: my new Purpose Partner, Fight Forward — a bold CIC fighting for women who’ve experienced domestic abuse.
Here’s the difficult truth:
1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
That statistic is not just hard to read — it’s hard to live with.
That’s why I’m using my platform to stand beside Fight Forward and their Fight Back programme. If this mission speaks to your heart — and your head — I urge you to take action.
💸 For just £2,000, you can sponsor a woman to go through the next Fight Back cohort.
👉 To pledge your support, email the team directly at [email protected].
Every woman supported is a future changed.
