Amp Up Your Resilience
The Secret to Thriving Daily
Resilience
It’s a word I’ve heard time and again in conversations this year, especially with corporate leaders focused on the well-being of their teams. The emphasis often circles back to building resilience. But here’s my reflection: Teams don’t need to build resilience—they already have it. ✨ Anyone who worked between 2020-2023 has likely developed incredible resilience muscles.
The real issue? Organisations are expecting people to operate at the same relentless pace they maintained during the pandemic. It’s not sustainable. For example, the travel industry, one of the hardest-hit sectors, pushed to recover lost profits by demanding extraordinary output from already exhausted teams. This is not resilience; it’s survival mode. 🛫💼
So, what’s my point?
For organisations, it’s time to redefine “productivity.” 📊 Continuing at the pandemic pace is not only unreasonable but also fueling unprecedented levels of burnout.
For individuals, I invite you to rethink resilience—not as a tool to push through endlessly, but as a set of practices to take control of your well-being and thrive. 🌱
My Four Pillars of Resilience
In a recent workshop I led for Rolls-Royce, resilience was the focus. I wasn’t invited to speak about Reverse Mentoring, Executive Coaching, or Commercial Strategy - I was invited to share the personal work I’ve done to navigate challenges and setbacks. The kicker, this invitation was a result of sitting next to someone at dinner. I wasn’t trying to “sell”, I was just sharing my story—moments of doubt, behind-the-scenes struggles, and the tools that helped me bounce back.
What I’ve realised over time is that my ability to “bounce back” comes down to a well-honed resilience arsenal, distilled into four key pillars: Emotional, Business, Physical, and Spiritual. 🌟
1. Emotional Resilience 🧠✨
This is your ability to keep a level head when emotions are triggered or when things don’t go your way.
A game-changing book for me was The Four Agreements. It’s a quick read, but its principles are profound. Two key lessons that transformed my leadership approach:
The world doesn’t revolve around me. 🌍 Other people’s actions often have nothing to do with us, so why take it personally?
My job is to turn up and do my best. 💯 On days when nothing seems to go right, this reminder has kept me grounded.

2. Business Resilience 💼🛠️
Building Eminere has been one of my greatest challenges. My meticulously crafted business plan didn’t quite turn out as expected (do they ever? 🤷🏽♀️). I’ve had to embrace agility and surround myself with a strong personal boardroom.
Initially, I worked with just one coach, but as my goals grew, so did my team. Now, my boardroom includes:
Two Coaches for different areas of focus.
Several Mentors who provide invaluable perspective.
An Accountant, PA, and Social Media Agency to support day-to-day operations.
If I’ve learned anything, it’s this: You cannot do it alone. Building resilience in business means building a network of trusted advisors and supporters.
3. Physical Resilience 🏋🏽♀️
If you follow me on Instagram, you know my fitness regime is non-negotiable. It started during the pandemic when controlling my movement became a way to manage stress and uncertainty. Now, it’s a cornerstone of my resilience.
240-week streak: That’s working out five days a week, every week, for nearly five years. 🏆
My routine: Boxing 🥊, Reformer Pilates 🤸🏽♀️, Strength Training , and yes, a little dancing to keep it fun.
🎁 My gift to you: Try a 60-day Peloton Guest Pass. Movement isn’t just exercise—it’s a powerful tool to reset your mind and body.
4. Spiritual Resilience 🕊️
This is the foundation of everything for me. Each morning, I start my day with Bible reflection and study with a prayer partner. It grounds me before the chaos of the day begins.
If faith isn’t your thing, I highly recommend:
The Daily Stoic: is a great source of inspiration and such a practical book to give you daily reminders that we are but a spec in this universe and puts things into perspective🌀
Inner Glimpse: I’ve been following Idil Ahmed for years, and last year I finally bought this book. It was truly life-changing. Honestly, I only recommend books that I believe will profoundly impact your life—because I know time is precious! This book deeply resonated with me, reminding me of the power I have to shape my own reality. It’s been an essential part of the inner work I’ve needed to do at this stage of my life.
Your morning routine can be sacred, even in small ways. Whether it’s meditation, journaling, or reading something inspirational, this time is essential for setting the tone of your day. 🌅
Your Invitation🎯
As we approach the festive season, 🎄 I invite you to reflect on where you are and where you want to be. One exercise I recommend is the Wheel of Anything, which I use with all my coaching clients.
Here’s how it works:
Identify key areas of your life (e.g., health, career, relationships, personal growth).
Rate each area on a scale of 1-10. 📊
Reflect on the gaps and think about what you need to close them.
Resilience isn’t about enduring the storm forever—it’s about finding ways to thrive in the midst of it. 🌈
I’d love to know which pillar you are going to focus on in 2025, drop me a note to let me know!
Parting Question: What do I need to perform optimally every day? 🌟
